Things looked up newswise this month 50 here's the latest batch.

Dutch and Doris Holland finally moved into their new home in Hilton Head Island. S.C. after seven months of trying to keep on top of the builder, etc.

In addition to coping with his heavy law business, Bill Steck has been chief cook and bottle washer at the Steck residence, where Betty thas had severe back trouble. She is now coming along nicely, if slowly.

Bill Minehan is preparing to don his green eyeshade once more and already has sever; substantial gifts for the 1974 Alumni Fund. Bill says Ed and Val McCutcheon recently spent couple of pleasant hours with the Minehans,

Lucy and John Cogswell received a card from Lee and Bill Shuldenfrei as follows: "we're on our trip around the entire U.S. and parts of Canada and Alaska. Despite about 14,000 miles of driving plus' buses, trains, ships and planes, and plenty of rain, we're having a ball."

Relayed from Sher Guernsey is a postcard from Johnny Johnson who says: "I'm in Bergen, Norway, until June - a delightful spot to study loaf and live. It's been a good year for grain but lousy for apples. The city is amazing with its 900 years of history, modern exploding economy stimulating culture, leisurely pace. Recommended for aging dropouts." Yes, Johnny and did you hear about the local shipyard building a ship too big to launch? 'S true.

Jim and Janet Frame missed the fall reunion Janet not being able to plan ahead too far during these past few months. She says Jim got in some Coast Guard Auxiliary duty during the summer Also, Phyllis and Chuck Mendel! visited them recently.

Add U.S.A. tourists: Bertha and Ted Johnson travelled through the West for two months and 12,000 miles, and got back to Falmouth, Me., in June, a little behind in their spring gardening

George Conklin reports: "we've been in Austria, Greece, Italy and had a great trip."

Tom Williams is about to join the '31 contingent in Florida. He writes: "Being a V.I. of one of the northeast railroads has been . frustrating experience the past couple of years, and I'm sure the solution of these problems will be a political one in the final analysis. Our plans are to relax, play golf, see some more of the world. I hope Connie can take me on a full time basis!" Their new address is Boca Raton, Fla,

Further add U.S. tourists. Ruth and Bill Wendell visited son Bob in California, thence. San Francisco and to Yosemite, Monterey. Carmel, and way stations.

The word is that Len Clark is making progress against his battle of aches and pains alow as it may be. A short time ago he said, "feeling much better during the last ten days,"

It was a sight to see Henry Johnson and his grandson Steve at the fall reunion. They ma quite a pair. Henry says that George Gilpatric is pacing himself carefully down in Chatham, Mass.

I wish I had the space to quote the entire contents of the fascinating letter from Doug Morris, Regretfully, I will quote a few highlights. He has moved to Sun City, Arizona, but not lock, and barrel. He says the job of moving was simplified by their decision not to try to transport New England to the West. The children got whatever they wanted of a 40-year accumulation. then ran the "damndest garage sale since Nero's fireside special. Only whatever would fit into the station wagon joined the trek.

"It's 2,700 miles from Wayland to Sun City, and we made it in 4.700. I'd always fancied that I knew the U.S.. but I didn't know nuttin'. Man, that's a lot of country! We adlibbed all over the place, including some incredibly beautiful days in the Rockies" and a helicopter flight into the Grand Canyon. (Only my laundryman and I knoW what a thrill that was.)

"I know you expect to hear that I tried out for goalie on the shuffleboard team and was beaten out for it by a little old lady with a motorized wheelchair - but such is not the case. Your old roomie has knocked 8 pounds right off the embonpoint. is getting his tennis and swimming strokes straightened out (seems I was using them interchangeably), and cuts a fine figure on a 3-speed wheel - no hands, 'n' everything. (However, I'm not going to leap into the seat anymore. For three days I was in the soprano section of the choir.

"Ran into Dick Holbrook the other day (previously had talked to Peg on the phone). He looks.well, and still is just as up 'n' at-em in marketing."

Doug on a bicycle reminds your secretary of the time he rode from Hanover to Belmont on a bicycle, and he claims he did it in one day. I have always believed that he hooked on the back corner of a model T farm truck carrying vegetables to the Boston market.

See you next month.
