Si Leach has been spending time on a community project called the Youth Business Learning and Development Centre Inc. Seventy per cent of its budget comes from the government, but the school is operated by supporters from the business community. They teach a 26-week course for men and women between 18 and 22 who never finished high school or who never successfully held a job for longer than six months a rather high-risk group who are receiving a second chance although they possibly may never have had a first chance.

And, speaking of Oz Bliss, a note from him says that he and Fred Slaughter, good friends for 55 years, both had a cataract out and an implant put in on September 21. Oz says he saw Allan and Nora Wolff recently: "They are going strong."
And, speaking of Fred Slaughter, he writes: "Ruth and I are A-OK after an incredible fivemonth winter-spring junket to the south Pacific, a fine Chicago summer, and a San Francisco trip to visit daughter Anne and family. After the eye surgery I expect to again see the world through a clear lens!"

There has been some disquieting news from Hanover concerning the status of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE is it an alumni magazine or just another publicity organ of the College? The Class Secretaries' Association is faced with the responsibility of hiring a new ALUMNI MAG editor. I hope we get to do the job.
