Seasons Greetings! By this time your skis should be out, well waxed, and ready for a winter of hot dogging as befits people of our young age! Let us give you some light reading for the holidays ahead.
Jonathan Moore has a better appearing and disappearing act than Houdini. Jon has been a key personal associate to Elliott Richardson in his various cabinet assignments. To keep you up to date on his activities, I quote from an October 19 newspaper article: "Attorney General Elliott L. Richardson is re-organizing the Justice Department to give broad new authority to a key personal aid.
"In the new System, Associate Attorney General Jonathan Moore takes on a major role in forming and carrying out Department policies, recommending nominees for political appointments including Federal Judgeships, and dealing with the White House."
Three days after this article appeared Jon announced that he was leaving the Department with Elliott Richardson who had resigned over the firing of Archibald Cox. I would really doubt that this is the last we'll hear of Jonathan Moore in the political arena. You can't keep your eye on Elliott Richardson and not let it fall on Jon! Good Luck Jon!
Ed Winnick has written a letter taking issue with Bruce Classon's previous statements as to Ed's sabbatical from his law practice. Ed writes that he did not go to Portugal for a year as previously reported but only spent three months in Europe with Mary Lou and the children. Gee Ed, we're so sorry you suffered so!
I just received an interesting letter from BobWhite. "Well. I've decided to leave graduate school behind me and go into business for myself - in Provincetown, Mass. After a rather short stint with Pare Plee Umbrella Company, I have just been named assistant vice president! We are specialists in making all kinds of umbrellas and rainware and manufacture approximately 30,000 items per year. It's lucrative and booming.
"In addition, I have been working evenings at the "Buttery" in Provincetown with Harold Whitakker, - as part-time manager. Whittakker was a fairly well-known Maitre D' in New York and the man who actually re-wrote the Italian National Anthem a few years ago for President Fanfani. He and I are presently collaborating on a new rendition.
"Furthermore I have nearly completed a novel temporarily entitled; "The Life and Times of Professor Spahn." Dodd Mead is quite interested for the spring!" If you're caught in the rain in Provincetown or just plain hungry, stop in and see Bob!
The New York Times of October 12 carried an article indicating that Tom Myers has been made president and chief operating officer of the Norman, Craig, and Kummel Advertising Agency. Tom had joined Norman, Craig, and Kummel in 1966 after a business career with Colgate and then with General Foods. Great going, Tom. Hang in there!
