It used to be that spring was identifiable by the appearance of the robin and the disappearance of the white covering. Now I recognize the advent of spring as the time when the 1040 form reaches the top of the desk. As the man said, "I used to be wealthy, but I blew all my dough on food."

In any event, it's springtime in the White Mountains. Tuckerman's is primed and waiting. Come on up.

The American College of Emergency Physicians sent on word that P. G. Flynn participated in the 1972 Symposium on Community Medical Services and the Management and Design of Emergency Departments. Perhaps of more significance is that it was held at the Dunes Hotel in Los Vegas. The good Dr. Flynn is a member of the National ACEP Committee on Education and the Committee on Teaching Hospitals. Also he is director of the Nethercutt (as opposed to always cut?) Emergency Center and is affiliated with Santa Monica Hospital Medical Center.

Quick News: Eric Berg bounces around Manchester, Me., as the assistant director of area development for Central Maine Power Company. Jean keeps pretty well occupied with sons Ryan and Eric and daughters Ingrid and Signa. This, in addition to a Great Dane named Yorick. I'm not sure it means much with the advent of 10-education, but Ryan is the 1962 class boy (10).

Alan Greenbaum finished off his Ph.D. in counselling last summer. In addition he found time to work as a child psychologist in a Phoenix Child Guidance Center. Family includes wife Sharon and children Lisa and Kim.

Mark Hastert has been very active since leaving school and from the sounds of Diane's letter has had a very interesting life. After leaving Dart- mouth, Mark received a B.A. in architecture at the University of Washington in 1965 and an M.A. in Urban Planning in 1967. Mark is now the head planner for Belt, Collins & Air, a subsidiary of Lyn Engineers, and works all over the Pacific Basic Area with his headquarters in Honolulu. A recent accomplishment is a 10 year development plan for an island in Singapore Harbor. The Hasterts' two daughters Shanna and Hallet share the sunshine life in the Pacific.

Bill Nevin is finishing up a fellowship in pulmonary disease at the University of Arizona Medical School. The only other flash is that this followed two years of duty in the U.S. Air Force. Any more news, Bill?

Another basking in the Hawaiian sun is JayParsons who also has bounced around the Pacific quite a bit. Jay is after his Ph.D. in geography at the University of Hawaii. As part of the program, Jay spent 14 months in the Philippines. At the same time, wife Ann and daughter Alison were on an island south of Manila studying the com- munication of family planning information among rural woman.

Time to rake the debris left from winter. Would love to hear from you, as would John Clark. Remember the Alumni Fund.
