We know that we have several readers of this column since an error on the part of the writer has been brought to his attention. In the April Alumni Magazine we we reviewed our success with a monthly luncheon but unfortunately gave an incorrect street address. It should have read 465 California Street, where the San Francisco Commercial Club has been located for many years. This is a repeated word of invitation to any travelers to our part of the West to join us the first Wednesday of the month on the 13th floor of the Merchants Exchange Building at 465 California Street. If you have any questions you may call our Association telephone number listed in the telephone book and answered at the office of Trustee Dave.Smith '35.

Our turnout for the annual meeting at the White Whale in Ghiradelli Square was more than enough to fill the room. Dean Carroll Brewster gave us his views of what Dartmouth has and will have to offer in the future to anyone wanting a college education. He listed three main points: admission to any who desire to be leaders, outstanding educators in our faculty, and a use of the historic values, i.e. honesty, morality, hard work. We had a fine evening and left with a feeling that the College is heading in the right direction.

Our officers for this year are the same as last year with one exception: Derek Knudsen '65, president; F. Allen Andersen '66, Michael H.Biggs '54, Richard A. Gale '60, Charles R.Hoeveler '67, vice presidents: Carlton J. Ward '32, secretary; Alan S. Woodberry '64, treasurer; and David L. Smith '62, assistant treasurer. The one change is addition of Dave Smith as assisting the treasurer. Note we have two Dave Smith's, both loyal Dartmouth men. Along with this group we have other hard working alumni: John W. Clow'52, enrollment director for this area, including Hawaii; Peter Zischke '52, job placement chairman. Alan Andersen listed above as one of the VP's doubles as our academic affairs officer.

If plans can be worked out we hope to run our own Alumni Seminar, using locally available academic talent, with a topic covering California history. Those of you getting our mailings will be hearing more of this. Our plan would hopefully including locating the seminar in the middle of the old gold country on or near Highway 49.

"Better than a tea dance," one spectator commented on this obviously un-genteel RugbyMatch when Dartmouth beat Harvard 8-0 in the first annual Charles River Dartmouth CupMatch in Weston, Mass., April 22.
