I just got another of those thorough Army PR sheets on Dr. Fred Jarrett. In duplicate. The message runs two lines, to the effect that Fred recently presented a paper to the Dutch Surgical Society and visited university hospitals in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Thanks to the Army for tracking Fred's movements for us.
Bob Wagstaff wants to hear from old friends. And if you lived in a small Alaskan hamlet, you might want to hear from old friends, too. Maybe even from people you never heard of before. Bob is a partner in the law firm of Wagstaff, Rubinstein and Middleton in Anchorage and lives in the village of I ndian with his wife and child. Bob also is on the national board of the American Civil Liberties Union and recently successfully argued the case of Davis vs. Alaska before the U.S. Supreme Court. He doesn't say what the case involves, however, and a colleague of mine familiar with Alaskan affairs offered no help, either. We can use our imaginations until Bob files a further brief.
Have a nice summer. And remember, if you're doing something interesting, doing time, or dropping out, write me about it. I'm a good listener, but modesty will get you nowhere in this column.
