Let's start with a football story. The source is John Merrow, who wrote me in mid-June from Washington to say he had met Bob Blackman on the street a short time before. "He was in town to testify against Title IX, the anti-sex discrimination regulations which many coaches feel threaten the fabric of American life, and so forth. He looks well and still wears the familiar terrycloth 'T' shirts, but they ain't GREEN any longer." John, who produces a documentary radio series for National Public Radio, met Blackman during the final 100 yards of John's daily six-mile run.

Goodbye from Hanover and good luck to Pete Brown. He has been named associate director of admissions at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash. Pete, who had been assistant admissions director at the College since 1968, began his new job in August. He had taught high school for four years in Evanston, Ill., before returning to Dartmouth.

Bart has been with the firm for 10 years in a variety of positions, ranging from finance and sales to managing director of the Australian branch. In addition to his new responsibilities, he also oversees the company's environmental sanitation services program anbd a consulting service.

Barry Linsky, who at last report in this column was climbing the highest peaks he could find, came down long enough in May to marry Jane Leslie Weston. Jane is a graduate of the University of Michigan and is assistant to the editor of the Arts and Leisure Guide of TheNew York Times.

Norm Buchsbaum is laboring at law. Norm heads the law department of a Baltimore law firm and has been known to take speaking engagements to discuss "Recent Developments in Labor Relations." Norm has had extensive experience in hearings before the National Labor Relations Board and represents employers in proceedings before that body.

Finally, this note of apology to Greg Knight. I erroneously credited his recently-published book on his Africa to one Greg "Wright." I was wrong.
