Have you ever wondered where the background music comes from that we hear as we watch our TV's or go to a movie? Music editors like Bill Biel's daughter Joan have Drought a professional touch to the pictures we view. Sometimes this music is composed especially to fit a particular picture and other times the music is drawn from a music library with the editor fitting the joy or sadness to the story as it unfolds episode by episode. The next you see a TV drama or go to the movies it may be that your feeling will be stirred by that deft editorial musical touch of Joan Biel.

Something has happened at Dartmouth that will concern you but if you ever raised your voice about it you would get the "Oh, you old timers" treatment. According to the Daily Dartmouth the new president of the graduating class was elected with only 30% of the senior class voting as well as the fact that he was a write-in candidate. It would appear that he was elected because he and his supporters were dissatisfied with the present policies of the administration. At least this is the conclusion that your secretary draws from this man's comments in the Daily Dartmouth. This question must cross your minds "What kind of a Dartmouth spirit is being fostered in the minds of the current student body?"

Parker Hayden, our president, sent a newspaper clipping showing two very young ladies sampling maple sugar candy at Howard Shaw's farm in Foster Rhode Island. Howard is the son of Eliot (Shorty) and Kay Shaw. These are busy days at the Shaw farm.

With regret we must again tell of the passing of two more of our classmates who have been stalwart supporters both while in college and since - Dick Ellis and Jake Mensel. To their families goes our sympathy. Obituaries appear in this issue.
