It was recently announced that Barbara Frey has been made president of the State University College at Buffalo, N.Y. Barbara is the daughter of our Ernie and Ruth Frey. Congratulations to Barbara, and we join with Ernie and Ruth in being proud of their daughter's accomplishment.

Let your mind go back to the fall of 1915. Dick Parkhurst sent a clipping from the Boston Traveler for November 24, 1915, which has the headline "Dartmouth Glee Club Opens in Newton Tonight." The item goes on to list T6ers as the top men: Hugh "Livey" Cole as leader of the Glee Club, Leonard Joy as leader of the Mandolin Club, and Bob Burlen as monologist. What a big part 1916 had in the Glee Club tenors, Hugh Cole, Dan Dinsmoor, Bill Mott; first basses, Ken Tucker and Warren Upham; second bass, Lou Pfingstag. In the Mandolin Club, besides leader Leonard Joy, first madolins, Fletch Andrews and W. Sully; second madolin, Parker Hayden. After Newton, this outstanding group traveled to Fall River and Springfield for further concerts.

Thursday morning, September 23, 1915, in Webster Hall, the seventh annual announcement of scholarship honors was made. Rufus Choate Scholars included Roy Brahana, Eugene Chase, Dan Dinsmoor, Tuck Flanders, Ed Kirkiand, and Ros Magill. Among those in the first honor group were Dan Dinsmoor and AlLawton; in the second honors group were Howard Buffinton, Freddy Frederiksen, "Steve". Harvey, Dan Lindsley, and Ruby McFalls. In the third honors group were Ernie Frey, Hugo Gumbart, and Dick Parkhurst. Honorable mention was given to Hugo Gumbart in mathematics, Herb Kimball in physics, Dan Dinsmoor in chemistry, and Alvin Caiman in history. Howard Buffinton received a prize award in English composition. Of our present '16ers, the following were elected to Phi Beta Kappa: Dan Dinsmoor, Freddy Frederiksen, Al Lawton, and Roger Evans.
