The first word from Roy Frothingham's widow Dorothy arrived recently, with a detailed account of a motor trip with her 18-year-old grandson across the continent and back to California. Her itinerary showed that she has more relatives and friends in almost every state in the union than any one else could match. She records visiting the old Frothingham home near Mayfield, Vt., and Roy's grave in the cemetery there. "A once-in-a-lifetime vacation" for Dorothy covered 12,000 miles.

News from Lew Warren in North Dakota is good. He continues to drive short distances. Good news from Jim Oneal also. He is now able to write letters and I am sure would like to hear from other '12ers. Ray Tobey at 88 has just had a driver's test and been given the go-ahead for two more years. Naturally he finds himself unable to put in his usual full day's work on his place. The sad news comes from Chuck Tanger's son that his father at 90 is slipping, apparently from a weak heart. The son recalls the pleasant occasions when he took his father to our reunions and asks particularly to be remembered to Fletcher Clark.

One of our Class widows who wishes to remain anonymous has proposed that serious consideration be given to the building and main- taining of a House For Old Grads similar to the Dick Hall House. We have received some encouragement from the College, so perhaps some day her dream may come true. There is a real need for such a home, increasing with the years. Something to think about.

Another encouraging note has come from Harrie Chase's widow who tells us that, in addition to a generous gift to the 1976 Alumni Fund campaign, she is planning to make a contribution to Dartmouth in memory of her husband. The Chase family has been one of Dartmouth's bulwarks over the years.

We are all delighted to hear from Guy Lewis' widow Frances, who has been faithfully contributing to the Alumni Fund each year in memory of Guy, his twin brother Roy, and Lyme Armes. Frances retired two years ago and is enjoying her new-found freedom.
