Roy Lewis writes that he has closed out his apple business in Canaan, N. H., and he and Florence have resigned themselves to the quiet life. On a trip to Cape Breton Island, N. S., this September they were surprised to be greeted at the Normaway Inn by Ginny and Doc Worcester who had been up there two weeks for fishing in the Margaree River. Roy also had a pleasant visit with another "old apple farmer" up there in the Annapolis Valley - George Boggs '14.
A letter from Katherine and Cliff Sugatt from Casablanca advised that they had met Lily Linscott and her sister on the Independence on their voyage across. They also ran into the Everett Youngs '18 on board and persuaded the Purser's Office to post a notice on the bulletin board for a Dartmouth cocktail party that evening to count noses.
Sydney Clark, whose All The Best travel books have won him world renown, was recently decorated by the Italian Counsel General in Boston with the order of Stella della Solidarieta d'Italia, First Class, for his books on Italy including All The Best in Italy. He is also to be awarded the "Friendship Medal of German Travel Experts" October first in Wiesbaden by invitation of the German government; unfortunately he can't accept in person as he will be in Hawaii.
Fletcher Clark Jr. reports that out of 128 living grads in 1912 - 88 per cent have contributed to Class dues; out of 57 living non-grads 35 per cent have paid their dues making an over-all average of 72 per cent. The average for all alumni, grads and non-grads is 58.5 per cent and that our percentage is a better figure than any class since 1907. Congratulations, Fletcher.
Unc Bellows writes that he and Mrs. Bellows are leaving on vacation September 21 for the White Mountains via Springfield, Mass., Hanover, N. H., and Whitefield, N. H., and then on to Toronto to visit their fourth grandson who arrived Aug. 27. He will be back on the job with Jas. H. Oliphant and Co. Oct. 15.
Stan Weld recovered without ill effects this year from an acute ruptured disk but now reports that he is back at that golf game again; sure missed the Welds at Bonnie Oaks this June. Stan also boasts of a grandson, David Cheever Weld Jr. (son of David Cheever Weld '46), just arrived.
When contributing to the Alumni Fund in memory of Homer Harrington Brooks Mae Brooks wrote: "The 1912 Billboard is much enjoyed as are the ALUMNI MAGAZINES, it keeps me in touch with the men whose names my husband so often mentioned and who used to yell 'Honey' at him at the Dartmouth-Yale football games which we never missed."
Babe Hartshorn writes that the Roy Lewises and the Quechee Frenches spent the day with them in Lancaster, N. H., this summer. Babe has been doctoring in Hanover this year and missed out on their planned trip to New Mexico and Arizona last winter.

Emma Pettingill reports that Mrs. E. Walker Pickering (the former Mrs. VernonL. Greene) of Deer Isle, Me., a former resident of Dedham, died Aug. 12 after a short illness.
