Dick's House was approved by the executive and reunion committees, as the theme for our 50th reunion next June. It is most appropriate, since this adjunct to the hospital was given by Mr. and Mrs. E. K. Hall in memory of their son Richard Hall, who died in Hanover while in college. Rededication ceremonies will be held the day before Commencement and joint custodianship given to the class of 1977. Our class has already raised an endowment of over $10,000, the income from which is available to buy magazines, books, records, and other items to make the hospital stay of students more pleasant.

Fall reunion saw the most enthusiastic Dartmouth Night in years. Some misguided soul set the Friday night bonfire ablaze Wednesday night. The freshmen were so aroused that by Thursday night a new 80-tier pile of railroad ties had been assembled. Friday night's parade found the largest delegation, over 60 strong, following the 1927 banner. Spectators cheered all the way from the stadium, around the campus, and up to Dartmouth Hall, where songs, cheers, and speeches preceded the grand bonfire.
At the class meeting, bequest chairman PaulO'Connell reported a $1,000 bequest from James Mullins and a quarter-interest in a $50,000 trust fund from Phil Corliss. This brings 1927's total bequests to $489,000. He also reported the tenth life income trust, which raises that total to $152,000.
Class agent Sam Wormser thanked the members for their loyal support in surpassing our $50,000 goal in last year's Alumni Fund.
Golf tournament results at Quechee Country Club were: Sam Wormser - low net, ChuckBaker - second, Allice Wormser - ladies low net, Helen O'Connell - second, and chairman Paul Revere O'Connell - low gross. Other prizes went to Paul Hannah, Tom Anglem, and Bob Long.
Thomas Hale Ham's latest book. The StudentAs Colleague: Medical Education at CaseWestern Reserve will appear December 10. Hale designed a bold, successful curriculum that treated students as both colleagues and clients, giving them an early opportunity to work with patients, not just to master book learning. Hale is currently a visiting professor at Dartmouth Medical School and resides in Hanover. Last year he received the American Medical Colleges award for distinguished service to medical education.
