During the February doldrums is a good time to start thinking seriously about the 65th reunion in June and making plans for a return to Hanover. Many classmates have been in touch with CharlieDudley, and about 50 people are quite certain they will attend.
The Reverend Ed Jacobitti will conduct our memorial service at the Episcopal Church, and we are hoping Polly and Bill Magenau's daughter Carol will sing.
Lee and Walt Sherwood are staying quite active, and both enjoy gardening. He powermows the lawn and Lee attends aqua-exercises twice weekly. They stay in touch with several classmates.
Mary and Dick Eberline are both well and happy and keeping moderately active in their community. Dick's "driving vision" is marginal, but hopefully it will not keep them from attending the reunion.
Ken Macnair's Sally died last February, and he has moved to a retirement community in Hendersonville, N.C., where his sister, Anne Downs, has joined him. They hope to spend part of June at her place in Wolfeboro, N.H., and attend the reunion. Ken enjoys life at Carolina Village and says it is a very happy place.
Dan Luten writes of unhappy memories he and Marion have of The Lodge at the 60th Reunion. The Lodge has recently been renovated, and we trust the 65 th will be a wonderful event for all who return to Hanover We believe the Lutens' 8,518 miles coming and going in '89 must be a record for Dartmouth spirit!
Virginia Cornehlsen, wife of JohnCornehlsen, has died after a long, brave struggle with cancer. We attended a beautiful memorial service for her at the Church of Christ at Dartmouth. I'll end with a preach from Rip:
Don't question who is bound to pay For all the evils of this day. Nor moan about our bitter cup But look to see what we can do And get to work. The job is up To us who are the favored few.
