Secretary, House 28, 8-16 Mejiro 3-chome Toshima-ku, Tokyo
Cherry blossom viewing was dampened in Tokyo this year by unseasonably cold weather and a great deal of rain, but much warmth was restored to Dartmouth residents on April 9 by Frank Cornwell '35.
Frank, now a resident of Hanover and director of the Trustees Committee on Resources, was guest speaker at a dinner meeting at the American Club. Almost straight from the Hanover Plain, he updated us on the latest events at the College.
Anneliese and Chuck Simpson '62, with Monsanto in Tokyo, attended their first meeting, along with Kazuo Kobayashi, who will be attending Tuck in September. Others enjoying Frank's insights on a wide range of subjects, from New Hampshire primaries to male-fe-male ratios, were Yoji Hirota '28, George Bikle '51, Dick Halloran '51, Jack Kindergan '64, the Breers '57, the Hottas T66, the Enbutsus '58, Yoshihiro Nakamura '68, Bob Grondine '74, and the Stevensons '57. It was reported that an important academic exchange program between Dartmouth and Keio University, one of Japan's leading institutions, is now being established.
