A buffet dinner was put together in October by Peggy Breer, Wen Igaya, Koko Hata, VickiKindergan and Jane Stevenson. ProfessorChodos spoke of the expanding music program at Dartmouth and was joined by his wife at the piano for the delightful Brahms Waltzes. New faces in Tokyo for the occasion were AndreaFinklestein '77, first participant from the College in the Keio Exchange Program, NedBrooks '64 and Peter Kenny '58. Hiroshi andYoko Yamakawa had just returned from the Tuck Management Course. Among the crowd of 40 it was good to see Toshio Hiro-oka, Tuck '55, and his wife.

The International House was the April setting for a dinner meeting and Tony Martin's talk on "Japan's Art Sense." Rick Geissinger '67, PhilipMarsden '76 and Bruce Routman '72 attended their first Tokyo meeting and were initiated into "shibui-ness." It was great to see NedNakagawa '65 after many years. The Enbutsus'58, the Bickles '51, the Simpsons '62, the Kindergans '64, Akira Uehara, Tuck '66, SakanYanagidaira, Tuck '67, Bob Grondine '74, and Alan Smith '50 were among the 30 who shared perspectives on the unique "eye orientation" of Japanese art as observed, studied and loved over several decades by a very special "gaijin."
