Reg and Molly Colley attended the annual meeting of the American Wood Preservers Association held in Charleston, S.C., the week of September 11-17. Reg enjoyed taking part in the various seminars.
Dean Francis H. Bird visited his daughter Harriet Grigsby at her home in Orinda, Calif., during July and August. It was during the forest fire season, and they saw lightening start one in their vicinity. It burned for three days and nights and was headed for the canyon and ridge on which their house was when the wind shifted and turned the fire back into the burnt area and gave them something to be thankful for.
Marjorie Mills, 1909 distaff member, retired Boston Herald columnist, and radio personality received at its October meeting the Society of Professional Journalists' Yankee Quill Award and was inducted into its hall of fame.
