We received a letter from Allen Gear, attorney, Burlington, Vt., saying that he is a grandson of Dr. and Mrs. George E. Allen and that his grandmother passed away March 5, 1977. He served as executor of her estate.
Pineo Jackson's daughter Katherine, who has spent her life in Red Cross work, has given up her home in Santa Barbara, Calif., and has come east to live with Pineo. He is so happy with her decision.
Art Lord is now all settled in his new home in Pomona, Calif., and is finding many interesting new friends at the beautiful retirement home in the hills. Art's grandson, John Smail, who lives in Madison, Wis., has entered Dartmouth this fall. Art's daughter Laura drove him over to Hanover for his matriculation. Art is very pleased to have a grandson at Dartmouth.
Ken and Ora Phelps have arrived at their new home in Burlington, N.C. It was a rough trip for them by plane, but they will be settled in their new apartment soon.
Jess Wilson's daughter, Hope Haug, and her husband have a summer home in Casco Bay, Me., and also go to Maine skiing in the winter. She plans to visit Andy Scarlett and his daughter Marjorie. She enjoys going to Hanover when she can find or make up an excuse.
Helen Lowell (Jim's widow) wrote from San Diego that she was going to spend September with her daughter and husband in Washington and then return home to Warsaw, Va., for the winter.
