It has occurred to me that you may not be aware that as class secretary I have an updated list of addresses of all classmates. If you are out of touch with someone among us I should be able easily to put you in contact with him.

We are sorry to lose one of our Hanover resident '35ers. Frank Cornwell will continue to serve as Director, Trustees' Committee on Resources but will do so from his home in St. Louis. He and Ruth will be missed on the local scene by those of us here and those returning.

Mary and Howie Croninger are now well settled in their new home in Guadalajara. So well, in fact, that Mary could make a two-week visit to her family in Palo Alto while Howie took a five-week 8885-mile bus trip up the Baja and throughout much of the U.S. He covered 27 states and spent nine days on buses! Included, of course, was joining us at our fall reunion. Both Mary and Howie are very active, she raising champion Lhasa Apsos and gardening, he in photography, gardening, and tennis at the Santa Anita Club, where they live.

Bill Krieg sent a letter full of family news from Washington. Though retired some time ago from the State Department, he has recently been acting as chairman of the Latin American Studies course at the State Department's Foreign Service Institute. He had to decide on subject matter and speakers to cram as much area knowledge into inexperienced Foreign Service personnel as the two weeks allotted each course would permit. Bill will resume his research in inter-American relations. Bill and Philinda have two grandchildren, born to son Laurence and his wife Martha. Both young parents are involved in linguistics at the University of Michigan. Daughter Helen is . also employed there, at the University of Michigan Library, while daughter Laura has completed her third year at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School.

You may have seen the article in BusinessWeek in December telling of Bunkie Knudsen's battle to keep White Motor Corporation viable. Pivotal support came from Jim Hughes, chairman of Diamond Shamrock's finance committee. You'll find it fascinating to follow this story.

Dave Goldman busies himself with volunteer work for SCORE, the Service Corps of Retired Executives, and says it is very satisfying.

Another retiree, Irv Finkelstein, writes from St. Pete. He's tending fruit trees, doing yard work, and reading a lot. "Active and busy with no regrets."

Hall Colton had a brief visit with Ralph and Trudie Specht in Sarasota. Our treasurer observed Ralph doing real estate business and playing lots of golf.

Since last month's notes I have learned of the passing of four classmates for whom obituaries will appear in this or a future issue. Charlie Benton, Fred Depinet, Tom Kroner, and RalphWestby. All died in the month of November.

Please let me hear from you. Your news will help greatly to make our notes more complete and, we hope, more interesting to all!
