Ken Settel, we understand, was recently appointed to the medical staff at the Beverly Hospital in Beverly, Mass. If you have not kept up with Ken, he scooped up medical degrees from the University of Washington and Columbia. He did an internship in pediatrics at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital in New York and a residency in psychiatry at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Mass. Ken is presently a teaching fellow at the Harvard Medical School.
We have learned that Tom Snow has been elevated to assistant counsel in the law division of the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. Tom went to law school at Boston University. He lives in Wilbraham, Mass., where he is a member of the Public Housing Research Committee, a team leader in the town's United Way campaign, and president of the Wilbraham Tennis Association. Tom is also an officer of the Dartmouth Club of Springfield.
Fred Becker tells us that he and Carolyn recently became parents again. Todd Matthew joined two-and-a-half-year-old brother Jeff. Fred and Carolyn et al. live in Sudbury, Mass. Fred does commercial banking for the Harvard Trust Co. and also does some alumni interviewing.
Fred tells us that Jack Foley, his wife and son, have "retired to Vermont, where Jack slops at the government trough provided by the FAA." Jack is a flight controller at Burlington International Airport.
John and Karla Spooner enjoyed Campe Lejune (South Carolina) so much that they have returned to Winston-Salem, where John toils for R.J.R. Foods. The Spooners, including daughter Molly, get around. They have lived in Massachusetts, Texas, New York, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina over the past few years.
Tom Sullivan practices law and races sailboats in Madison, Wisc.
Rip "Don't Walk Away Renée" Maclay is practicing banking and sailing on Cheddar Lake in Wisconsin.
Bill Selden continues to look for a home while commuting between Manhattan and Jakarta, where he works for Bankers Trust.
Doug Watson lives in a retreat in West Swanzey, N.H., a suburb of Keene, where he is a lawyer. Doug and seven-year-old son Jake annually host an affair "which attracts all forms of life to West Swanzey. To get there all you do is follow the three-toed tracks."
Finally, there apparently was a Bones Gate reunion last fall at the home of Dow Stewart '68. According to Fred, "the twelve-foot hero sandwich lasted but five minutes as did Spooner at beer pong." In addition to Becker, Foley, Spooner, and Watson, also in attendance were Tom Charles and Jeff Locke '70; John Eatton, Charlie Oalto, and Jeff McElnea '71; John Nelson '72; Dow Stewart, Ken Page, and Pete Lawson '68; and Larry Brown and Ken Peterson '67.
Less than a year to our reunion which we share with the '67s and '68s.
