As the waning days of spring fade into summer, June is upon us and the Green is once again green. Preparing to tuck the class scrapbook away until the fall, I came upon the following unfinished business. . . James"Mono" Monahan and wife Kate returned to Massachusetts where they are driving two "derelict" VW's. Jim writes: "Baby Bronwen has teeth but can't talk. I'm getting my M.B.A. nights at Boston University while working as a cost analyst for a rope company. (Sorry, no hemp!) I hope to buy a farm soon and return to the pastoral life."
Charlie Allen has been assigned as a program assistant with Catholic Relief Services, an overseas relief and development agency, and is stationed in Madagascar, Africa. He writes that the agency's work "has helped significantly in the lives of many personal friends and I want to be associated in the continuing mission" of the agency. A difference of 12,500 Missouri voters turned Governor Christopher S. "Kit" Bond and JohnShapleigh out of office in Missouri last November. John had been Governor Bond's assistant counsel. He is now with the law firm of Lewis, Rice, Tucker, Allen and Chubb in St. Louis.
Jim Knox and his wife have been stationed in Adana, Turkey, for the past ten months and, "believe it or not," Jim writes, "not a single '71 Big Greener has dropped ,in on us. And, believe it or not, Adana doesn't even have a Dartmouth Club. Now that's crude!" The Knoxes have done a great deal of touring in Turkey, so maybe they were out when everyone dropped in. Jim is changing jobs, by the way, and will be area defense counsel for the U.S. Air Force in Turkey.
Finally, word has been received from ChrisConkling that a mass of good fortune has befallen him. After finishing school at Brigham Young University, he wrote scripts for religious and educational films produced by the University for two years. Last summer he began writing for Ralph "Fritz the Cat" Bakshi. Chris has left the X-rated field and now is writing the screenplay for Bakshi's forthcoming feature-length animation, Lord of the Rings - so Chris is still doing religious films (of sorts). On July 10, 1976, Chris wed Robin Allen, a BYU girl from Los Angeles and, at last writing, they were awaiting a new addition expected to arrive last month.
