Among this month's news is word that Jacob Wilkins Tepper was born November 23, 1984, to Belinda and Bruce Tepper. Their daughter, Laura Kate, is now five, and both children are preregistered at Dartmouth, of course. Bruce became a partner in February 1985 at Weiser, Kane, Ballmer and Berkman, a redevelopment law firm in downtown Los Angeles. He heads the litigation department.

Greg Taylor is a publicist for Lorimar Productions, primarily handling the series "Falcon Crest," one of their prime-time soaps. Jim Ruxin is producing trailers for, feature films with his own production company, Workman-Ruxin.

Gunnar Klintberg is living in Old Greenwich, Conn., and working in New York in the corporate finance division of Nordic American Banking Corporation, assisting Scandinavian companies in their efforts to conquer the U.S. market.

Dave Brown finished his master of architecture degree at Rice University several years ago and is now a real estate developer in Bethesda, Md. He and his wife have two daughters, Emily and Eleanor. Sam Cuddeback has begun his fourth year as the director of admissions at Tabor Academy in Marion, Mass. Sam writes: "Let Whitey Burnham know that the women's lacrosse team I started here two years ago was 6-0 in our league and 9-2 overall. Also let Abner Oakes '56 know that his son, Abner '81, is doing an excellent job in our English department. The department chairperson is Donn Tyler."

Ivan Suzman is a visiting lecturer in biology and sociology on the faculty at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. Mary Allis S'71 was a panelist at a career exploration seminar at Dartmouth in January sponsored by the Texaco Foundation. The seminar, entitled "Letting Your Conscience Be Your Guide: Careers in Public Service," featured five panelists representing various careers in philanthropy, social action, public interest, and cross-cultural exchange. With ten years experience in nonprofit activities, Mary represented The Japan Society.

Jack Dickard was one of 19 participants on the alumni roster at the Varsity-Alumni Swimming Meet held last September at the College. Classes of the fifties, sixties, seventies, and eighties were represented with participants from as far as Texas, Florida, and Illinois. Mrs. Karl B. Michael '29 was honorary referee, and Professor William Slesnick, who had judged meets for many years, was honorary judge. Jack took first place in the 200-meter breastroke, the 200-meter individual medley, and the 50-meter backstroke. Jack's home is in Plattsburg, N.Y.

Finally, this letter from O.A. (Sandy) Wallace: "Fourteen years after graduation, I feel enough has happened in my life to get some news to the Alumni Magazine. I was married, after considerable searching, to the former Debbie Galloway on May 26 of last year. Debbie is a local Buffalo girl. We moved into a new house we helped design three weeks after the wedding.

"As for work, I knew my engineering education would pay off sooner or later. I am vice president and manager of telecommunications for Marine Midland Bank, the nation's 12th largest commercial bank. The technological explosion and the need to create banking products with a competitive edge keeps us hopping. Debbie is marketing and sales coordinator for a local wholesale farm seed company, Stanford Seed.

"Our off hours are filled with skiing in the winter (I'm a part-time ski instructor) and boardsailing in the summer. Our house is strategically located in the suburbs, almost equidistant from work, the ski area, and the beach on Lake Erie. We take our fun seriously. Incidentally, despite its reputation, Buffalo is a fabulous area for recreation.

"I still feel close to Dartmouth, and we visit when we can. We have an Apple Macintosh at home [Sandy's letter was prepared on his home computer], so in that sense I'm sure I would feel right at home in my old dorm room. My experiences at Dartmouth have been a very positive influence in my life.

"I correspond on an irregular basis with Dr. Fred Chang (wife Lana, children, living in the D.C. area) and Hal Parks (children, math professor at Oregon State University). Debbie and I made the wedding two years ago of Larry McCleary in New York City. Larry is nearing the end of a seemingly interminable neurology program. He and his wife, Christine, are happy in the Big Apple. I hope it won't be another 14 years before I'm struck with the desire to write again."

For everyone else who hasn't written in 14 years, take courage, follow Sandy's good example, and drop us a line. We'll be back next month.
