Did you miss the 1912 news in the November issue? It was inadvertantly included with the October column. The deadline for November found your secretary in the hospital repair shop, where he aquired one new knee. The other, a definite liability, may come later. For all the letters, cards, phone calls, and flowers which arrived, my sincere thanks. They brightened many a difficult day.

The poem by Donovan-Smith '64 appearing in "Vox" (October MAGAZINE) caught my eye. The last verse is extremely apt and I quote:

If I am a leaf upon a bough may the wind be strong that takes me down that I may have a long and giddy dance before I touch the ground.

The best news to date comes from AlyceKimball, Ken's widow in the old Bay State. She writes: "I was so happy that our 1912 girls, boys, and friends so generously contributed to the '78 Alumni Fund, and for my small effort the task was well worthwhile. I shall be happy to carry on with pride to keep the Class of 1912 up front." Our widows deserve our appreciation for their outstanding responses.

May the meaning of Christmas be deeper, its faith stronger, and its hopes brighter as it comes to you this year. And for 1979, new hopes, renewed faith, and a deeper appreciation of all our blessings.
