As the ski season approaches, I have good news. Mike Neary has been named the manager of Suicide Six in Pomfret, Vt., and the Woodstock, Vt., Mount Tom ski areas. I'm sure that Mike will be able to provide any member of the Class with complimentary passes as well as free access to the bar. Thanks, Nears.
Further south, in Cambridge, I saw a considerable number of '73s at the Harvard game. Jon Low, Warren Jurovaty, Bob Barr, Chet Homer, Bob Weil, Brad Little, John Hauge, Scott Anderson, Herbie Hopkins, Piggy Bates, Dave Sullivan and Phil Maloney were seen in the Cage after the game. Earlier this fall at other games, I also ran into Rob Mikalis,George Leach, Chuck Thomas (who will be graduating from Dartmouth Medical School this spring), and Dave Clark.
I have also just recently received word of two classmates who have already walked down the aisle. Bob Raynolds was married last June to Mary Bartholomay. Both Bob and Mary are working on their doctorates in geology. And in August Dana Johnson formally hung up his skates after playing for three years in Germany and married Anne Norman. They have moved to Edmonton, Alberta, where he is currently working at the Crans Cancer Institute.
In the meantime, two members of the Class have new additions to announce. Susan BerndtMahoney sent word of the birth of her first child, Melissa Van Velson Mahoney. Sue is presently on leave from Landaner Associates, a real estate consulting firm in New York City. Bill Chase and his wife Deana also announced their first - a son - born on September 11.
Thanks to Class Treasurer Joe Powers, I have received the following notes about classmates from all over:
Trevor O'Neil is working for the California Coastal Commission in San Francisco where he is sharing a house with Saul Levy. Dave Pelland reports that he has received his Ph.D. in mathematics from Wesleyan and is presently an assistant professor of mathematics at Murray State University in Kentucky. KentMann is continuing to work in the tax area for a Cleveland law firm. Vandy Van Wagener is still in Cincinnati with Proctor and Gamble, as the branch manager for Ivory Soap. He reports that "Chip Sleeper is helping me tear up our competition as my account executive at Compton Advertising."

Chuck Appleby is working for the Navy in San Diego in the area of nuclear submarines. Richard "Tex" Merrill is an attorney on the legal staff of Amoco Production Company. He is also secretary-treasurer of the Dartmouth Club of Houston and would like to have any classmates who are in the Houston area contact him.
Bruce Alexander sends word that he is in the Navy, in Florida, but hopes to be leaving soon for the University of Virginia or University of Maine law school. Walt Sustek is also in the service. Walt has graduated from the Boston University Dental School and he and his wife Debbie are now moving to Charleston A.F.B. in South Carolina. Walt is a dentist and captain in the Air Force. Benny Pecter reports that Jon Lattimer returned home from his surgical residency in Hawaii to get married. Benny was in attendance along with Hervie Houser.
Bill Mayer has also sent word that he has finished law school at the University of Virginia and is presently clerking for Judge Timbers of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. After his clerkship concludes Bill will return to D.C. to join Covington and Burling while his wife Leslie (Holyoke '74) finishes her master's in landscape architecture at the University of Virginia. Walt Shoup has joined the Systems and Applied Sciences Corp. of Riverdale, Md„ in the capacity of project manager, science applications division. I have also received notice that David Smith received his Ph.D. from John Hopkins University.
Finally, Sneed Hum reports that he's enjoying life in Eagles Nest, N.M., where he is making a fortune in under the counter sales in his leather shop.
That's it for this month. Keep those cards and letters rolling in.
