After receiving the latest batch of class address changes from the Alumni Records Office. it occurred to me that a few class statistics might be of interest to you. Our last directory was published in the spring of 1974. Since that time there have been many changes. More than 150 families have moved to new abodes. Particularly noticeable is a 100 per cent increase in Florida residents, from 20 in 1974 to 40 at present. This doesn't include those of us whose residence is somewhere else but who enjoy going there for stays of varying lengths. Regrettably, 35 classmates have died since early 1974. Our class membership is now 518 hardy souls, all of whom should plan to stay around at least until our advanced 45th reunion in June of 1979!

Plans are under way for a good class representation at the performance of the opera, The Merry Wives of Windsor, on May 26 and 28 at the Hopkins Center. This year an ap- propriation from our class memorial fund is helping to defray the costs of the production. You will have heard of this program already, but I hope this issue will alert you in time to make a last minute reservation in case you didn't.

Word comes from Put Kingsbury that he and Louise will be moving back to Keene, N.H., about May 1, after his retirement from the Mayo Clinic.

Al and Jean Brush, too, will be occupying their new condominium in New London, N.H., at about the same time.

Frank Specht found our class wellrepresented at the Dartmouth Glee Club concert in Washington. Lowie and Hilda Haas were there just back from a trip to San Francisco. Also present were Ed and Alice Neff and Dean Couper. Dean also sent in a card telling of a trip to Florida and a skiing visit to New England.

Charlie Shaw says it all briefly: "Retired and relaxing in Florida sun for the winter."

Greg Karch has joined the society of retirees after getting over what used to be the 65 hump. Greg had been purchasing agent for the Maywood Division of Stepan Chemical. He plans home redecoration, cleaning out of old "treasurers," summer trips, gardening, bicycling, and maybe a few golf lessons to see if he likes it! Ah, the joys of a new retiree!

George Hoke also became a senior citizen in March but "doesn't feel it." Still downhill skis and jogs daily. Lots of travel on land (Cheyenne and Vail) and sea (Caribbean). George hopes to take the Dartmouth Alaska Cruise in September.

I have learned that Haroĺd Kennedy has written a book which is based on his 38 years in the professional theater. Advance reviews by Helen Hayes and Steve Allen are most enthusiastic. After its publication in July by Doubleday, look for No Pickle, No Performance:An Irreverent Theatrical Excursionfrom Tallulah to Travolta." Should be delightful reading!

Alumni Fund time is like now! Don't keep head agent Al Dodd waiting 'til the last minute. You know you're going to support our alma mater! How about now?
