By the time this reaches you the class officers meetings in Hanover on Friday and Saturday, April 28-29, will have been held. Hope that many of you will have been able to attend. PeteFitzherbert writes that he hopes to attend and that he expects to be out in Missouri the first few days of May.

Sad news has been received about FrankHight, who is now confined to a nursing home in the Miami, Fla., area. Frank suffered a stroke about six years ago, which left him completely disabled, and a year ago he lost his wife Lucy. Any friends wishing to write Frank can do so c/o his son (also a Dartmouth grad) Frank S. Flight Ill, 104 Crandon Blvd. #411, Key Biscayne, Fla. 33149.

If anyone in the Class has any doubts about the value of the class program of donating a book to Baker Library in memory of each deceased classmate, he should see the letters of appreciation received from some of the surviving wives. When word is received of the loss of a classmate a letter of sympathy is sent to his wife and she is advised of the book program. This quite often brings a letter of thanks from the wife who also is generally interested in the title of the book.

Another classmate who has deserted the North for sunny Florida is Herb Beskind, who, with his wife of five years, Serena, is enjoying the easy life "essentially hedonistic in character" at Longboat Key, Fla. Herb and Serena have given up their place in Manhattan for a home on the Gulf of Mexico, 50 feet from a dune. Joe Millimet has a condominium a mile down the road. Herb gave up corporate responsibilities - I can remember when he was with the Doughnut Corporation of America - in 1964 and in recent years Serena and Herb have divided their time between New York and mostly Italy, due to Serena's heritage. They now plan to spend seven or eight months in Florida, and the remaining months visiting Herb's three daughters, his wife's daughter, and her family in Trieste.

Herb reports he manages to get to Hanover each fall and visits some faculty and other friends. Last June he was delighted to hear Raphe Hillyer play in a quintet at Sarasota. It seems Raphe was teaching a spring program down there, and Raphe and his wife, a Japanese musical impresario, and their seven-year-old daughter visited Herb and enjoyed one of Serena's memorable Italian dinners. Herb also reports that he played tennis recently with JoeMillimet in 38° temperature. It's not clear who won.

Reports from here and there: Norb and PickHofman recently spent two weeks in Israel. Among classmates spotted in Hanover at hockey games this winter were Don Ballantyne,Ed Brooks, Harry Coronis, Frank Curtis, and Bill Macurda. The class coordinator for the Campaign for Dartmouth is Al Gibney, who has kindly consented to give of his time and effort in this important matter. You are reminded that all gifts to the campaign will be credited to the class Alumni Fund drives. Gib and Louise recently returned from a two-week trip to Florida, where they looked over possible locales to return to in future years. A visit to Disney World helped them recapture their youth.
