Rev. Ozora S. Davis, D. D., president of the Chicago Theological Seminary, was chosen moderator of the National Council of Congregational Churches at the biennial session held in Omaha, Neb., during the last week in May. The Secretary has received the following items from a friend. "This is the highest honor within the gift of the Congregational churches of the nation." Also the following: "On Friday, May 27, at Omaha, three hundred and fifty of the Chicago Seminary alumni and many other distinguished guests attended a reunion banquet. It was planned for the distinct purpose of unveiling and presenting the portrait of Ozora to the Seminary on behalf of more than eight hundred friends who had provided funds for it. The portrait will be placed in the New Seminary building." This portrait was painted by Ralph C. Ott of St. Louis. The following biographical notes appeared on the printed program of the exercises:

"Born sixty years ago in Wheelock, Vt., and spending most of his boyhood in White River Junction, Dr. Davis grew up with very little thought of theological seminaries, or the ministry as a lifework. "At fifteen, he became a telegraph operator. Then followed St. Johnsbury Academy, Dartmouth College, Hartford Seminary; and Berlin, Jena, and Leipsic Universities in Germany, with a decision to enter the ministry.

''Three pastorates in New England came next; and then a call, in 1909, to become president of the Chicago Theological Seminary. Preacher, teacher, writer, lecturer, counselor, administrator, friend! What family, what church, what denomination has not been touched and helped by his life and work?

"In this nineteenth year of his generous service, the alumni and former students feel honored to pledge him their renewed loyalty, friendship, and co-operation."
