I suspect by the time this issue is in hand, we may well have engaged in a personal exchange in Hanover which far exceeds the capabilities of this pen!

Kudos to Mike Ryan, promoted to senior vice president of Irwin Union Bank and Trust Company, Columbus, Ind. Mike joined the bank in June 1976 as vice-president and trust investment officer. In January 1977 he assumed responsibility for the bank's investment division. In his new position he will continue to be responsible for the bank's investment and trust departments. Mike spent six years in securities and real estate investment with Irwin Management Co. prior to joining the local bank. He is active in the community and currently serves as a member of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the City Traffic Safety Commission, and as an elder of the First Presbyterian Church. Mike, Phyllis, and children Chris and Tim reside at 3235 Beech Drive in Columbus.

Word arrived that Steve Borofsky was a candidate for elective office in the New Hampshire Bar Association. The "Governor-at-Large" is affiliated with Mclane, Graf, Greene, Raulerson & Middleton in Manchester. Steve's various activities are as follows: member, executive board of the Manchester Bar Association; member, committees on public relations, law and day education of the N.H. Bar Association; member, American Bar Association; director, New Hampshire Legal Aid Corporation. I share with you his submission as a candidate for office:

"The legal profession today faces a number of profound issues. Among the more important of these issues are advertising, specialization, accountability, the role of the Bar in the legislative area, public access to lawyers, our own growing numbers and our public image. The breadth and interrelationship of these problems underscores the need for a strong and coordinated response from the Bar. As an association we have and begun to deal with these problems. I strongly support our continued efforts in these areas and as governor would be particularly interested in new initiatives in the areas of delivery of legal services to the middle class and improvement of our public image."
