Congratulations are due to each of the following classmates: To Leroy Stetson Davis of Bloomfield, N.J., who became a proud great- grandfather in April 1979. To John C. Felli of Southold, Long Island, who came through Hurricane David without mishap. As John expressed it, it was "one of those many storms in our lifetime we are helpless to control." To ArtPfeiffer, who passed his 82nd milestone on October 8, shortly after he and Dairis returned from their sojourn in China. More about their venture later. To Henry Spero in Chicago, who wrote that all is well with him as long as he is able "to totter to work every morning." Keep tottering, Henry, but be sure to head eastward to Hanover in June 1980. To WarrieChamberlain of Miami, Fla., who continues to play his early-morning round of golf daily and hopes to be present in Hanover for our 60th. To Al Frey of Dresden, Me., for a lucid treasurer's report and for escaping the ravages of both David and Frederick with nothing more than a little high wind — not even enough to flatten his unscythed accumulation of weeds. To DeanTravis of Bozeman, Mont., who welcomed his first grandchild in May 1979. I'll tell about his skills with rod and gun in my next issue. And to Sig Sigler, recently appointed head class agent for Tuck '21 for Tuck Schools Annual Giving (TAG).

Regretfully, we report the passing of classmates Hubbard Moore Loudon of Delray Beach, Fla., Paul W. Freeze of Bangor, Maine, and Ferdinand "Duke" Sabourin of Denver, Colo. Obituaries will appear in the Magazine in due course.

The Shrewsbury, N.J., Sunday Register of August 5 gave a full account of the 50th anniversary of the fine Riverview Hospital at Red Bank, N.J. Marching bands, cheering crowds (despite the rain), and the presence of many notables made it a grand occasion. And who was grand marshal of the parade? None other than our James S. Parkes! As honorary head of the hospital's board of governors, he was followed by the present board, their administrative staffs, and the hospital's auxiliary representatives. Jim proudly rode through the streets of Red Bank in a chauffeured Model A Ford convertible with the top down. Congratulations, Jim! What a great citizen service you have performed these many years in the Red Bank-Rumson area.

Apologies to Ed Maling in Palo Alto, Calif., for congratulating him on a birthday he had not yet attained. Ed is younger than I had thought. But prove your youth by appearing on the Hanover Plain in June 1980, Ed.

A wonderful letter from Dorothy Kay, Paul's wife, told of her most interesting trip to China. You will hear more about her most fascinating venture in a later issue.

Progress is being made on our 60th reunion plans. You'll be kept informed through "Twenty," this column, and other media.

Adios, amigos. Hasta la vista.
