Our long awaited Directory is finally at the printers and if you haven't received your copy yet, you certainly will within a few days. After twelve years, it is interesting to see how your classmates are occupied, both business and family-wise. I believe that over the years this Directory will be very helpful in maintaining a class organization. The work Bobo Russell did toward making the Directory a reality is much appreciated. Bobo supervised the printing and manufactured the attractive loose-leaf binder.

Recently I talked with Joe Bannon. Joe is an account executive with the large public relations firm of Carl Byoir in New York. He handles the Tile Council of America account for his firm. Not too long ago he and Deirdre moved into a new house in Princeton, N. J.

Still active in school affairs but this time at the St. James School in St. James, Md., is Dave Barr. Dave is teaching and also coaches baseball and basketball. He and Betty have two daughters, Marsha, seven, and Ruth, three and a half.

Living across the country in Seattle where I hope he enjoys some of the wonderful western snow is Don Graham. Don is a partner in the law firm of Graham, Green and Dunn. The Graham family consists of Felicia, Don III, five, and Fred, three.

It was recently announced that Ed Nadeau was made a partner in the law firm of LaPann and Reardon in Glens Falls, N. Y. Ed has been with the firm for about six years. In addition, he is very active in Dartmouth affairs in his area, and is President of the Dartmouth Club of Glens Falls.

After recently moving from Geneva to London with Gulf Overseas Sales Corp., Sonny Drury was just appointed Vice President of this company. Congratulations, Sonny, and keep up the good work.

'48 has done extraordinarily well in the baby derby, as I've mentioned before, and now it looks like the leader at this date is Jim Hickey. Jim and his wife Gloria are the proud parents of two sets of twins and two other children for a total of six. Incidentally, if anyone can surpass this figure, please let me know. The Hickey roll call is Susan and Kathy, seven, Jim Jr., four, Debbie and Michael, two, and Robert, one. Jim is manager of the W. T. Grant store in San Pedro, Calif.

Should anybody in the class need a good dishwasher, I'm sure Dave Meeker out in Troy, Ohio, can help him out. Dave is sales manager for the Hobart Manufacturing Company, one of the largest manufacturers of dishwashers and kitchen equipment in the country. Dave and Helen have two boys, aged eleven and eight, and two daughters, seven and five.

Francis and Joan Rimbach recently moved to a new home in Fitchburg, Mass. Francis is the owner of the F. L. Rimbach insurance agency in Fitchburg.

Now that 1960 is well along, I expect that Jake and Carolyn Turner will catch up with the Hickeys. The Turners have five children, one born each year from 1955 through 1959. There are two boys and three girls. Jake is a general surgeon in Youngstown, Ohio.

A short time ago, I received a nice note from John Zillmer who is President of the Dartmouth Club of Milwaukee. John mentions that he had recently spoken to Bill Hartwig. Both John and Bill are lawyers in Milwaukee and are bachelors. What's the matter up there, boys?

Last week I attended the Alumni Fund Dinner here in New York. Our class had a wonderful turnout, which augers well for the campaign. Class Agent Russ Carlson came down from Syracuse to explain his new regional organization. In addition to myself and Russ, the '48 table consisted of John Hatheway, Jim Schaefer, Hugh Ettinger, Joe Smith, Joe Hickman, Irving Tuttle, Fran Hummel and Charlie Herterich. President Dickey explained in his address the tremendous competition for top professors and the consequent increase in salaries necessary to obtain an excellent staff. For this reason, Dartmouth must reach its goal this year. I certainly hope that everyone in our class this year will give as much as he can. If you haven't sent in your contribution as yet, do it immediately as Dartmouth needs help.

Dr. William G. Grant '49, assistant professor of biology at Williams College, has been given a $6,500 renewable grant by the National Institutes of Health to continue his study of hormone reactions in animals.
