Thus far, my appeal for news has gone unrequited, whatever that means. I am reminded of the skit that we enjoyed one winter's day in Commons during our junior year, when one vaudeville character handed an orange peel to another and the second replied, "Your appeal is fruitless." That is the way I stand right now; so, looking back at Henry's fine columns, I noted the birthday salutations with the zodiac references. My Farmer's Almanac has just arrived, so here goes for a couple.
Under the sign of Scorpio for November, Campion, Foss, Platt, and your sec were born. Webber was born under the sign of Sagittarius. Belatedly, they are entitled to the encomiums that accrue to this favorable situation, and the members of the class congratulate them.
In December, we note that Sagittarius carries until the 21st, so Donovan and Hallet also come under this sign. Gardner, Wheelock, and Edson were born under the sign of Capricorn. They are entitled to the greetings of the holiday season. And to all who read these lines, we send a very cordial "Merry Christmas" and a "Happy New Year."
Due to Henry Lowell's failing eyesight last spring and the slowness of the new see's picking up of all the responsibilities, there has been a long delay in obituary notices on some classmates; these should be in this or the next issue of the MAGAZINE, however.
P.S. Send news.
