Beginning of year five .... What have I done? Where are we going? Who will be the next green President? Stimulating questions, I know.

I'm sure everyone has made preparations for June reunion. A simple and worthwhile occasion. See you there.

Let's see... After a year of practicing law in Colorado Springs, Rob Saltzman has moved to Santa Monica (three blocks from the beach) and is teaching at the U.S.C. Law School. Quite an accomplishment. Good luck, Rob. I didn't think they had laws out there, just Jacuzzis.

Peter Leer, and I quote, "recently moved to Athens, Ga., from Charlottteville, N.C., and am working as a hospital management consultant. More importantly (for me) I was married in June to Barbara Nagle and attending was fellow '76 Bruce Kelley." Thank You, Pete.

Just opened the best piece of news I've received since Dean Manual handed me a present back on that historic day:

"Dear class notes .... I am now up in Alaska, having graduated from law school at long last. Secured employment with a maritime law firm which specializes in shipwrecks, fisheries, and other disasters. Some news of others: saw Rick Nichols and Sandy Fitchet in Hanover in the spring. Nick is heading back to Hastings College of Law in San Francisco this fall. He says that Ken Monteiro turned down a prestigious offer from Cape Cod Community College and will be teaching psychology at Rutgers next year. Ken just got his Ph.D., spring 1980, from Stanford's psycho department. Sandy is working for A.T.T. buying and selling small Central American dictatorships or doing obscene things with telephones in New Jersey. Nobody knows for sure, and Sandy wasn't telling.

"Kate Clute finished her first year at Harvard's planning school and promptly told the 'vard to take a walk. She'll be finishing her degree at Cornell and is happy to be leaving Cambridge. [Oh, come on. Who doesn't like traffic, TM., and the pseudo people of that famed area?]

"Judy Zimicke is up here in Anchorage and when last seen was heading to Prince William Sound for some ocean kayaking. She's doing environmental and geological survey work for a consulting firm which seems to entail flying around in small planes taking pictures of birds."

Thank you, Dick Monkman,

"I thought I should send official news of my marriage on May 25 to Joel Klienman in New London, Conn." Congrats, Naomi BalineKleinman. "Those giving the official Dartmouth blessing were Tom '74 and Judy BurrowsCsatari, Brewer Doran, Joe Jaffione, PattiMcGreevy, and Stef Valar. Joel and I will be living in Newington, Conn. And as of September I will be splitting my time between life as a Wharton M.B.A. in Philadelphia and wifely joys and duties in Newington." That's a longer walk than from the Wigs to the Hop. We hope your in shape, Naomi.

Will the real Barry Freed please stand up! (That's funny.)

Gordie Miles is still in the Canadian commodities business and has bought himself a new home in Winnipeg (where?), Manitoba. Gordie says, "I still live ignoring the belief that 15 will get you 20."

There proved to be a midi (as opposed to mini and maxi) reunion on June 14 in Bronxville, N.Y. The occasion was the wedding of Joie Hyde to Fred "The Dred" Wall. EthelLabalme was a bridesmaid and Jack Nicholson was an usher. Others included Julie Miner, Vicki Bohn Felis, John Slaby, Joe Hoffman, Kevin Carlie, Eric Nelson, Art Howe, Dave Balderstom, Tony Magro, Jim Clamage, Kim Cushman, Stark Holekamp, and the legendary Copa Cavanaugh. Others of other years also attended. Joie writes: "After honeymooning in Ireland, I returned to discover I had landed a spot in the Directors Guild of America Producers Training Program. For the next two years I'll be working in feature films being made in New York. Fred is a 'specialist' in the money markets division of the Irving Trust." He has a great relationship with Robert Vesco and one William Carter. Just a joke. Thank you, Joie. Good luck from all.

Don't forget June.
