Thanks to the memo about class notes, MortCoon reported to our treasurer that where he lives he sees no Dartmouth folk and only learns about them in class notes of the ALUMNIMAGAZINE and "The Roar." Seeing how few classmates pay dues, he wonders how many will be in Hanover for our 1983 gathering.

The birthday card arrived right on time for Walt Willand. He reports the beautiful ship captain's house still remains in Portsmouth and that the Navy yard employs about 7,000 people on repairs and overhauls.

It was good to read in treasurer Dave Eckel's report of the very sound financial condition of the class, which is due in great measure to the care and foresight of Stump Barr, who kept our support flowing into Hanover.

Your secretary is disappointed that only the above can be reported. Surely there must be some episode, joke, or item each has enjoyed recently. Why not share it with others in the column or "The Roar?" This dual editor's task needs such.

It was a disappointment to attend the first football game to find no fall foliage. Why not meet later in the fall for more certainty that there will be a colorful New England? It's a long trip to Hanover for most, and their effort merits consideration that they are there also for the color.
