The weekend was perfect except for a poorly-played second half by the Big Green catalyst that drew us to Williamsburg from far and wide.
Over 600 Dartmouth alumni were drawn by the charm of this restored area and by the national reputation of the famed Kemp-Shula duo. Captain Tom Harper acted as resident tour-director and Sandy Harper was the gracious hostess. The Leo McKennas and Howard Sodokoffs flew in from New York; the Clem Malins and the Peter Conroys came from Connecticut; the Warren Fellinghams traveled from Chicago; the Doug Keares made it from Washington; the Phil Langtrys drove from South Carolina; the John Mileses, whose son is a freshman at William & Mary, navigated from Carmel, New York; the Bob Faulkners and their beautiful family had to come from Providence; and the Fred Omaris rode up from Dallas.
It was fun seeing everyone and particularly to see that Leo McKenna is almost 100 per cent again after a year of recuperating from his freak accident.
George Fenner has been elected executive vice president, finance, of Motors Insurance Corporation, a subsidiary of General Motors Acceptance Corporation. George has been with GMAC since 1958 and is also a director. Motors Insurance Corporation offers automotive insurance services throughout the U.S. and Canada. George and his wife Janice live in Chatham, N.J., and spend much of their leisure time on the tennis courts. They will definitely be at the 25th.
Wouldn't you know that Roger Bensen would step forward and offer uniforms to the Dartmouth frisbee team, of which his son is a member? I'll wager the uniforms will he different.
