The headline reads, "City's 'Padre Pedro' Named Deputy Bishop." The article continued by saying, "Rasazza is the first priest of Italian descent as well as the first Spanish-speaking priest to be named a Bishop in Archdiocesan history. ... The slim, goateed Bishop-elect rode his bicycle to the press conference announcing his appointment. ... He has been active in the union organizing drive among the Hispanic work force. ... Has overseen all church programs for Spanish-speaking Catholics. ..."

A church official stated, "It's a good day for the church. ..." A parishoner said, "He's doing a super job of developing people. He has grown to understand the Puerto Rican community." A Dartmouth alumnus wrote, "All Dartmouth people can be proud of this man."

Reverend "Peter Rosazza spent only his freshman year at Dartmouth, but from reports out of the Hartford area, his loyalty to Dartmouth has never waned and he has shown much interest in activities throughout the years. Congratulations, Bishop.

Clem Malin has been appointed assistant to the vice president, strategic planning department, of Texaco.

John Liebman, a Los Angeles attorney, has just received the Brazilian government's Order of the Southern Cross, a most prestigious and coveted award. The decoration is the highest that is awarded to a foreign personality. Leibman received it for his founding of and dedication to the Brazil-California Trade Association.

Rick Foster writes from Okemos, Mich., that he is practicing law in order to finance his first love, breeding Lipizzan horses. He also sent a check to help support the foreign scholar program. Thanks for writing and. for the generous contribution.

Dr. William Frable has been named to a select team of the nation's leading medical laboratory experts who will conduct more than 150 educational workshops at a meeting of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists in Dallas, Tex. Dr. Frable lives in Richmond, Va., where he is associated with the Medical College of Virginia.

Stephen Katz has been promoted to full colonel in the U.S. Air Force. More impressive is that Colonel Katz is chief of the Norton AFB Command Post for the 63rd Military Airlift Wing. He and his wife enjoy southern California and hope the promotion will allow them to stay in the area.

John Sheridan is vice president and chief financial officer of AMF, Inc.

Foster Aborn has been elected a vice president of the Bond Department of John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company.

Chuck Morrissey was elected chairman of the Vermont Council on the Humanities and Public Issues.

Frank Strong has recently been appointed general manager, Marketing, for Kodak in Australia and Asia and will be moving to Melbourne.

Two classmates who spend their winters staying in top physical shape by playing competitive squash are Howard Newman in Hanover and Steve Farmer in Princeton.
