"Vanity plates" are what some states call them; other states have other names. But the principle is the same: anyone who has a message of five or six letters or less to get across to the motoring public can have it emblazoned on a vehicle license plate. A few examples of Dartmouth-related "vanity plates" recently came to our attention, and we'd like to make a collection of them for what should be a humorous photo-essay. If you have a Dartmouth-related license plate, could you send us a black-and-white photograph of it with your name and address on the back? All photographs would be returned.
