SIXTY-FIFTH REUNION
It was perfect weather for our 65th reunion June 6-8. The meeting on Saturday was attended by seven classmates and twelve loyal relations, who appeared in good spirits in anticipation of the events of the day.
The president welcomed all, and as the first order of business called on the class secretary to read the names of those classmates who had left us since the last reunion. The names were read, and a quiet moment of meditation followed. There being no unfinished business, the report of the nominating committee was requested. Offered for consideration and duly voted for on the first ballot were: President, Marvin L.Frederick; Vice President and Head Agent, Harold H. Lounsberry; Treasurer, Samuel H.Chamberlain Jr.; Secretary and Editor, Mrs. Charles W. Comiskey; and Bequest Chairman, Paul A. Rothery. To complete the formality of the occasion, the retiring president extended his pleasure and appreciation for the lasting friendships he so highly values within the class.
The class picture was taken in front of Hopkins Center with a vintage 1915 Ford as background, thanks to Paul Rothery's son Fred (who loaded the car on a truck in Springfield and drove it to Hanover). Fred and his wife Delight joined us for lunch. Ad Winship also took time out of a busy schedule to stop in and say hello. The College did us up proud. We had our own room at the Inn; breakfast each mor- ning at Thayer; lunch, cocktails, and dinner at the Inn; and June Scanlon '81 in a college car to chauffeur classmates hither and yon as needed.
A year ago a promise was made to Hal and Gladys Davison that they would not be forgotten in 1980. Happily the promise was fulfilled when Elvie O'Hara furnished the transportation to Woodsville for Dale Barker and me. Gladys and Hal made our visit memorable and asked to be remembered to all their friends. Hal has lost his eyesight and mobility, but not his courage and spirit.
The class of 1915 imported a vintage Ford for atmosphere and had one of the zippier reunions of the season.
