Greetings. I trust that everyone had a pleasant summer and is enjoying the early fall season. It's been great in Boston, but I can't say that my mailbox has been full with news of '73s. At any rate, here's all the news that's fit to print.
First things first: Kudos to Donna Ferritti for another record-breaking performance as head of the Alumni Fund for our class. Having watched Donna work on the fund first-hand, I can personally attest to her dedication and hard work. She spent countless hours on the phone, at telethons, and in Hanover in behalf of the class and the College. She deserves everyone's thanks.
Congratulations are due to Lee Rosengard and his wife, Andrea Kramer. They recently celebrated the birth of their daughter Rebecca. Andrea is currently manager of labor relations and corporate counsel for Acme Markets Inc. in Philadelphia, a large retail food chain. Lee is an attorney with the firm of Stradley, Ronon, Stevens & Young, where he specializes in commercial litigation.
Congratulations are also in order for DonnaBascom, who was recently married to Paul Biddleman in New York. Donna graduated from Hofstra Law School after Dartmouth and is currently a lawyer and manager of licensed products at Fruit of the Loom Inc. Her husband is a graduate of Lehigh University, Harvard Business School, and Columbia Law School and is currently vice president for corporate finance at Oppenheimer and Company in New York.
I recently had a chance to catch up with an old roommate, Chuck Thomas, who gave me a call from Chicago. Chuck is currently immersed in a medical residency there and is considering a career in plastic surgery. Apparently he doesn't get out of the hospital very often, but rumor has it that he's occasionally seen at several favorite Chicago watering holes with Jack Manning '7l and Murray Bowden '7l. After graduation, Chuck was an admissions officer at the College and then worked for a medical clinic in Philadelphia before returning to the Dartmouth Medical School.
And finally, I also had a chance to catch up with another old friend this summer, Bruce Ling. Linger has recently been promoted to the national accounts division of Canada's largest bank, the Royal Bank. He and his wife Joanne own a home in Toronto which was recently visited by the roving correspondent for the class of '73, J. Wright. Apparently they had a night on the town, but I'm sure that Bruce's version was sanitized and toned down. I'll look forward toj. Wright's personal account of his raid north of the border.
Well, that's it for now. Send along some news when you have a chance, and I'll see you next month.
