By now you should have received a couple of mailings from the reunion committee. Herm Christensen and his able assistants are putting together a great four days with something for everyone. It promises to be a memorable event, so do your best to get there. As of this writing, Herm advises that 124 classmates have indicated they will attend.

In a recent column I reported on Earl Brabb and indicated the geologic survey was feuding with the N.R.C. staff concerning the safety of a General Electric small nuclear reactor in California. Earl writes: "The slight disagreement we have with the N.R.C. staff relates to the amount of offset the reactor might suffer if the fault moves. The N.R.C. staff has recommended that the reactor be designed to accomodate one meter of displacement; we believe the geologic evidence indicates the movement may be more than one meter. The press have exaggerated this difference of opinion into a major disagreement." Glad to set the record straight!

Russ Gardner reports he got married in September to Barbara Michalson and that they are living in Barrington, 111. He writes: "I have spent five years in my own business motivation and recognition programs for industry. We've been busy and I'm quite happy. Saw Jerry Crossley, my freshman year roommate. We hadn't seen each other since June 1951. He looks great in spite of the years in labor relations for International Harvester."

Minnesota North Stars primary founder Walter L. Bush has been inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame. Walter has pursued hockey as prep school player, college and amateur player, amateur coach, and Olympic manager before getting into the executive side of the sport. Walter began his 30 year hockey career at Breck School and continued at Dartmouth. While working on his law degree at the University of Minnesota, he kept his skates in practice playing senior hockey and helping to organize the U.S. Central League. He then became active on an international scale, managing the 1959 U.S. national team and the 1964 U.S. Olympic team, serving on the U.S. Olympic Committee in 1963 and later a four-year term on the U.S.O.C.'s hockey section. Walter has won the Lester Patrick Trophy, which he received in 1973, as well as being named N.H.L. Executive of the Year in 1972.

From Nantucket, Al Folger writes: "I am still painting Nantucket scenes, despite the fact that I had an operation for a detached retina in my left eye last June. I have a third grandchild Vincent Edward Methot and Pete, my nephew, is a junior at Dartmouth." Bill Leffler tells us daughter Carrie got married in December to Paul Cooker from England. "They are currently in Lexington while he finishes a degree in chemical engineering at the University of Kentucky. Our daughter Edie is in beautician school and Billy is still at home a tenth grader. We now have a home in Kennebunkport, Maine, where we summer. Alana continues to teach and is also taking graduate courses in social work at the University of Kentucky. ... I have my congregational duties, am trying to write a book, and am involved in community activities, etc. A full life! Hope to attend reunion."

So long for now.
