Yes, we did get through Christmas, and Santa did find Etna.
Out of the clear blue, I received a phone call in early January, and it was Nat Luttrell speaking directly from the Hanover Inn. I found him at breakfast the following day, and we soon discovered that our last chat was 40 years ago! Nat and his wife and son were in town so the latter could look at the College.
Sticking with the Hanover Inn, Stam and Ricky Stambaugh were quartered there over Christmas, and it was a modest party of 14!
Bob Keeshan was a recent party of one, and he looks as trim and fit as can be, following his heart attack. Says he and Jean are anticipating reunion.
On the opposite page is a photo of a group of '42s who attended the 200th birthday celebration for Daniel Webster in the Senate caucus room in Washington, D.C., on January 18. The party was hosted by the Webster Society and the Dartmouth Club of Washington, and our pictured classmates include Bill Lowenthal, Keith Prouty, Merrill McLane, and Bud Dutton. The young lady was Bud's guest and an applicant for the class of '86.
Mary and I were recently fingering the day-old baked goods in a local supermarket, when a hand shot out and grabbed a goodie. At the other end of the hand was Ann Richards. Upon query, she advised us that Dex was in the bent-can department making some sort of survey having to do with fruit futures. I quickly found him, determined that there was a current bargain on Kadota figs, and then the four of us hied away to the bar in the new Lebanon airport for elbow exercising. I thought I'd just share that slice of life from the jet set (Etna chapter).
You are now operating with 1982 calendars, so mark June 14-17. It's the thing to do in '82!
