Doug Archibald decided for health reasons that he should turn over the jobs of class secretary and newsletter editor, and President Bill Jenkins twisted your new scribe's arm until he reluctantly agreed to step into one of those shoes which at the moment seems much too large. The other shoe (newsletter editor), I am informed, will be worn by Mac Shepard.
The Whites and the Sleighs motored all the way to China (China, ME, that is a well worn joke, I am sure) to see the Archibalds and pick up the class records. A note from Al Rozycki '61, Ford and Gertie Whelden's son-in-law, from Rome, Italy, tells of Gertie's visit there with her daughter Darden and Al in May, while Al was on sabbatical from Dartmouth Medical School. He reports: "Mom Whelden stayed with us and our three sons for three weeks and had a wonderful time, with a side trip to Venice and Florence. She is an incredibly spry 83 years; she kept up and tired us all with her boundless energy and enthusiasm."

We also learned that Ken Montgomery was the recipient of Culver Academy's 1983 "Man of the Year" award. He joins a number of nationally-known former winners, including a Pulitzer Prize winner, a novelist, an actor, an industrialist, a publisher, a columnist, and others. Ken has also been reported as having attended his 55th reunion at Harvard Law School in June.
Occasionally seen on the streets of Boston are Bill Thompson and Bunny Levison, both of whom appear to still be members of the notyet-retired corps.
Dick Colton was congratulated by VP Emeritus Ort Hicks '21 upon the former's arrival at the Dartmouth Faculty Club after what Ort called a "record-breaking" motorcycle trip from Stowe, VT, to Hanover.
Incidentally, news is scarce how about some from you. Vox clamantis pro auxilium.
