It won't be long now until June 13, 14, and 15, when we certainly look forward to seeing all of you who are planning to attend the 55th.

Chief arrangers Curly Prosser and John Phillips have publicized a wonderful program with ample opportunity for the renewal of old friendships, sociability, and relaxation. All reunion locations are convenient for walking, but a station wagon has been rented for those with weak muscles. This will be a unique occasion, for it's the first, last, and only 55th that '28 will ever have. It's not too late to sign up. Just get your reservation (with dollars, of course) to Craig Haines, Heritage Village 547-B, Southbury, Conn. 06488.

Vic and Mary Hartjens traveled around Florida by car this winter, with time out for a cruise from Tampa to Cancun, Cozumel, and the Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza. They re going to spend two weeks touring Nova Scotia before coming to the 55th.

I called Ed Sawyer to get some news for these columns and learned that he plays golf occasionally, but says what he really enjoys is watching college basketball, particularly when he can see Boston College play. He lives just across from Boston College. He had a heart attack in 1966 and retired from business in 1969. He enjoyed the 25th and 30th reunions and hopes to make the 55th.

Don Jeffrey '29 read in our class notes that mail to Mona Westhaver had been returned. Being a distant counsin of Mona's, he immediately wrote to say that she spends her summers with her family in Worcester, Mass., and winters in her home beside the ocean in KailuaKona. Thanks, Don, for sending addresses and phone numbers. Mona is expected in Worcester to celebrate her mother's 100th birthday on May 3. Now that communication has been established, we hope Mona will come to the 55th.

I called Al Lathrop at his home in San Francisco to find out the date of his and Dotty Russell's wedding. It will be May 7 in Scottsdale, Ariz., at the home of friends of Dotty's, with a reception at the same home. Tavey and Louise Taylor are coming from San Francisco for the wedding. The bride and groom are leaving the day after the wedding for a honeymoon on the Hawaiian island of Maui, then are returning to Scottsdale, where they will live. They will attend the 55th and later spend a month on Nantucket Island.

The sympathy of the class goes to Bob Kilgore and his sons on the death of Mildred, who died two weeks ago of cancer.

Bob Winchester liked the suggestion on our birthday card that he keep right on fiddling along and enjoying it. Bob says: "Need an example? There's my good friend Howard Ropes '03 at Watertown, N.Y., who celebrated his 102 nd birthday on March 31." Since his retirement from the Air Pollution Control Program of the New Jersey State Department of Health, Bob's hobby has been gardening.

The last week of March, Mary and I were happy to have our entire family of 15 - three children, spouses, and six grandchildren, plus Steve, who is unmarried for the annual family reunion on the beach at Hollywood, Fortunately, the weather was warm, unlike the preceding weeks.
