This is the last issue of this magazine to carry class notes until October, so we will remind you that the annual fall gathering and meeting of the executive committee for the class of 1925 is scheduled for September 16 and 17, the weekend of the Princeton football game. If you want to stay at the Inn, early applicants have a good chance. For other arrangements and to make your dinner reservations, write L. P. White, 3 Brown Street, Marblehead, Mass. 01945.

In 1980 the National Health Council bestowed on Tom Carpenter its award for "Distinguished Leadership in Health Promotion" for his efforts and leadership in the fight against alcoholism. Tom is now confined to a nursing home, and as evidence of its respect and admiration for him, the board of directors of the National Health Council has established the

"Thomas P. Carpenter Award for Distinguished Service." This will be given from time to time to an individual who has demonstrated the same exceptional service and commitment to the National Health Council as has Tom during his years of service.

The Delray Beach, Fla., area has had its usual spate of '25ers activities this winter. Fran and George Zahm, in residence, hosted Ben and Margo Werntz, Haven Blake, Bill Boies, and the Abels for lunch one day. Curt was in the hospital for ten days for a back operation, but was at last report recuperating at home. Haven Blake fell and suffered a broken pelvis shortly after reaching Florida last fall, but is now doing well. Margo and Ben had earlier given a supper at their Pompano Beach apartment overlooking the intercoastal waterway on boat parade night.

Bob Meginnity wrote this spring from New Smyrna Beach: "I have had lots of company this winter. In February I saw Kay and Bill Bunting, and June Bryant and I see each other about once a week. Early last month Carolyn Jones (Buck's widow) and Ed and Betty Lathem '51 were my guests for a few days, and we picked up June and went down to the Keys for a couple of days."

Bill and Billee Jenkins had planned a late spring trip to Florida, but Bill's sister died on Cape Cod so they did not leave home.

Ellie Wallis spent the winter, or most of it, in Marco Island. She is reported to be entering the field of sculpture.

Harry White still gets out of Danbury once in a while for a public appearance presenting some of his hundreds of songs and stories. He was billed at Brookfield for a St. Patrick's party as the "Old Irish Leprechaun of the Year."

Another good letter went out to classmates this winter from Hal Stevens on the subject of the 1925 bequest and estate planning program, and at this writing the class is off to a good start in the Alumni Fund drive. This should reach you just before June 30, so be sure your name is on the list for 1983.

At a dinner in Hanover honoring the successful conclusion of the Campaign for Dartmouth (as you no doubt know, the total was an astounding $204.4 million) members of the class present were Larry and Dot Leavitt, Lloydand Helen Brace, and Rad and VelmaTanzer. The last mentioned were just back from a motor trip in France and Spain.

Larry Leavitt '25, right, a Hanover local, found a moment to chat with Fred Scribner '30,left, at the final Campaign for Dartmouthcelebration dinner in Hanover in April, towhich Scribner traveled from his home inMaine.
