I'm a little light on news this month, so this will be short and sweet.
First and foremost, congratulations go out; Chuck Thomas, who married Karen Zimmerman on April 23 in Chicago. Chuck is currently a surgeon in the Windy City. From all reports Karen is an Olympic caliber figure skater among other things. I'm waiting for a more detailed description of the festivities from George Kidder and J. Wright, who I know were in attendance. Stay tuned next month.
Steve Leighton wrote a great letter from the Park Medical Center in North Carolina, where he is currently the medical director. Steve describes the center as "an exciting new center combining a full family practice, urgent care center, occupational health center, and, my favorite part, a strong emphasis on health promotion and wellness." In fact, he is currently developing a very innovative, statewide "Wellness Network for North Carolina." Stevehas also been active with the local chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility, especially regarding the issue of nuclear weapons. He and his wife Debbie have three children—Jesse ("a fine soccer player"), Katie (" in the midst of the terrible twos"), and Trevyn ("our most recent addition," in July 1982). All is well, but Steve admits that he hasn't caught "Carolina Fever yet. From his letter, sounds like his heart is still in Hanover.
Steve Quigley has asked me to remind ev-eryone in the class that our tenth reunion (de-layed by one year so we can convene with and '75) is coming up just about a year from now - on June 15—17, 1984. Steve is plan- ning to set up five regional committees aroundthe country; people interested in working on reunion can write me (my address is at the headof this column) and I'll pass your name on toSteve. In addition, our class is looking for a newnewsletter editor to replace Bob Barr, who hasjust resigned. Any takers?
That's it for this month. When you have a chance, send along some news. In the mean time, remember the Alumni Fund.
