There was a surprising amount of mail from classmates all over the country this past month, so here goes.

First things first. Bruce and Joanne Ling celebrated the birth of their first child, Nancy Jean, in March. Bruce and Joanne are currently living in Toronto, Ontario, where Bruce is an officer with the Royal Bank of Cananda. Congratulations to you both.

Susan and Bruce Alexander have also celebrated the arrival of a child, their second, but I received the news a little bit late. Amy Hall Alexander was born in October of 1982. Bruce is a member of the Maryland bar and is now practicing law with Semmes, Bowen and Semmes in Baltimore, doing commercial and maritime litigation.

Todd Keiller has returned to the Boston area with the Corning Glass Works Corporation. Todd is currently the market manager for the clinical instruments systems for Corning.

Bob Varsha has recently accepted a job as interim director of the Atlanta Track Club and director of the Peach Tree Road Race. Bob is currently a broadcaster for WTBS-TV and WCNN radio in Atlanta.

A news release from the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association cites Derrick Crandall, who was awarded the association's 1982 National Service Award "in recognition of his contribution to the RV industry through his continued dedication in nuturing the role of recreation in the mainstream of the American lifestyle through expansion of the American Recreation Coalition." Derrick is currently president of the American Recreation Coalition. This is a four-year-old Washington. D.C.-based national federation whose membership, under Derrick's leadership, has grown to more than 30 recreation organizations. The coalition represents the many segments of the recreation industry as a united voice in Washington, D.C. Derrick was cited for accomplishing "substantial recognition and respect for the collective and diverse areas of recreation with our federal government." He was given this national award at the annual meeting of the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association in the Bahamas in February. Well, Derrick, if you have to receive an award that's the place to do it. Congratulations.

Reed Greene sends greetings from the "Texas Riviera." Reed is now in his third year with the DuPont Pharmaceutical Company in Corpus Christi, Tex. After graduation, Reed taught classics at St. Paul's Academy in Concord, N.H. After his tenure as a teacher, he returned to the classroom himself as a graduate student at the L.B.J. School at the University of Texas. However, the public sector was obviously not for Reed, as he recently won DuPont's "Sales Achievement Award" and is the youngest sales representative in the southern region to have ever done so.

Bob Lazarus writes from Jackson, Miss where he moved in March of 1982 from Shake. Heights, Ohio. Bob is currently an attorney with the law firm of Watkins, Ludlam and Stennis, and his wife Ethel is a lawyer for the Mississippi Chemical Corporation. Their daughter Hanna was two years old on New Year's Eve of 1982.

Finally, a great letter from Dick Rosston brought me up to date with yet another Dartmouth attorney. Dick is currently a partner with the Anchorage, Alaska, firm of Ely, Guss and Rudd. He specializes in commercial law and states that "all my free time is spent raising our twin boys, Matt and Ryan, 17 months old in March." Dick's wife Joy is a nurse practitioner in an obstetric and gynecology practice. Last March he met Bob Page and Matt Montagne for a week of skiing at Alpine Meadows near Lake Tahoe. Dick reports that Bob is working for the Noranda Company as an exploration geologist and is based in Arizona. Matt runs a summer camp in Jackson Hole, Wyo. Dick also noted that Bob Raynolds was last heard from in Lander, Wyo., where he is "raising a new baby." Bob received his Ph.D. in geology from Dartmouth. In addition, Dick remarked that "rumor has it that Dick Clement is practicing medicine, as is his wife, in Bethel, Alaska." Finally, he concluded with the fellowing reassuring fact of life: "To dispell any rumors about life in Alaska, rest assured that we get electricity in our igloos every other Thursday." Well, it sounds like the Dartmouth winters were a good training ground for Dick's current lifestyle.

That's it for now. See you next month, and in the meantime, remember the Alumni Fund.
