This summer I heard from Bob Baird, who is now a first vice president at Dean Witter in La Jolla, Calif., specializing in commodities trading. He and Gayle are the parents of two girls, and Bob also notes that they have two female dogs. So Baird is still surrounded by females. Some things never change. He also ran his fastest half-marathon in a time of 74:40. Not bad for an old you-know-what. Jim Gott shalk is trading options in the Chicago market, and at Ralston, Chris Car stensen is reportedly moving smoothly up that proverbial corporate ladder we hear so much about.
The news out of Hanover is that YoungDawkins has taken the position of associate director of Dartmouth's division of capital giving. Gary "Dico" Dicovit sky is already up there, engaged in development work, and that sounds pretty nice as I sit in the 5:53 and sweat on the way home.
Back in the Big Apple, Jeff Wallace has joined the staff of Dun and Bradstreet, a small Wall Street business information firm, in the capacity of assistant treasurer. He and his wife Sally live in the little town of Darien, in Connecticut.
Lastly, in the field of philanthropy, PeterKneisel's family has established a scholarship to aid Dartmouth College students planning medical careers. The scholarship has been established by Peter's father and three of his siblings, and it will be awarded every other year to that student entering his or her junior year who has established a strong academic record and "a record of compassion and caring for others."
That's about it. Shel asked me to note that this fall Harvard gets beat in Hanover, and we will be sharing a tent with the classes of 1970 through 1975. Shel has also made reservations for 25 at the Coolidge for dinner, and those spots will go first come, first served. So happy Thanksgiving in August, and it's time to drop me a line or two regarding your latest coup.
