Our crocuses have begun to blossom, and that is the best sign that spring is just around the corner. Also, we were skiing last weekend, and some of the people were wearing shorts, which, unless they were escapees, means that we were spring skiing. Anyway, it is about time.

Our premier class thespian made the news this month. Dave Carrol starred with Linda Ronstadt in the New York Shakespeare Festival's production of La Boheme. David's performance was reviewed as being first-rate. His other Broadway credits are Rogers andHart and Joseph and the Amazing TechnicolorDream Coat. Elsewhere in the entertainment world, Dan Chodos was the dialogue coach for the series "AKA Pablo," which didn't make it, and the NBC series "Hunter," which did. Jon Fauer has been in Morocco as director of photography for an action-adventure movie entitled The Guardian, which we should watch for. Mark Arnott played in a Harold Pinter role, as Lenny in a revival of Homecoming by the Jewish Repertory Theater. Wayne Scherzer starred in a production of The Rise and Rise of Daniel Rocket, a play by Peter Parnell '73.

In other news, Grant Healey '75 was appointed director of capital giving for Historic Williamsburg. Peter Goodrich has accepted the position of assistant professor of English at Northern Michigan University. I don't know if they've started spring skiing up there yet. Jim Weaver has been appointed assistant director in the casualty-property commercial lines area at the Travelers Insurance Companies in Hartford, Conn. Weaves joined the company in 1974 and surely must be up there with Don Hooper for the longest time spent at one company.

To close where we began, Tom Kent is, with his two partners, the new owner of the Whaleback ski area in New Hampshire. The partnership plans to install snowmaking to improve what is already a good family oriented area. Also, a little snowmaking will improve the spring skiing, which I hope you all get a chance to do this year.

And that's it for this month. Just think. When you read this, April 15 and all that grubbing around for receipts and bills which tax time brings will be behind us.
