Dick Parkhurst is up and around after a month or so in the hospital and is now ready to throw away his walking cane. His oldest grandson, John Lewis Parkhurst '79, recently graduated from the Coast Guard OCS at Yorktown, Va., as an ensign and has been assigned to Coast Guard headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Dan Dinsmore, stepping down as 1916 head agent for the Alumni Fund, received a chairman's citation for outstanding performance. Ev Parker is now acting agent.

Jim Colton has turned over his job as 1916 treasurer to David T. Eckels, secretary of the Class Treasurers Association. The report shows 21 class members paying dues. Jim was treasurer for 21 years. He will be 90 next year, has no serious health problems, and is still an officer of the Sutton Housing Authority.

Dr. George E. Paine has been awarded a 60 year bowl for his 60 years of Alumni Fund contributions.

Ev Parker celebrated his 90th birthday in style at the Denver Country Club with 48 guests at a dinner arranged by his son and two daughters. There were six grandchil- dren, one nephew, and three grandnephews. Your secretary was invited but was in England digging up some roots at the time. A week later, however, he enjoyed his own 90th birthday at his son's house in Lincoln, Mass., with two daughters and nine grandchildren.

Linda Beane, class scholarship recipient, graduated magna cum laude, and made Phi Beta Kappa and Casque and Gauntlet. She is teaching at Proctor Academy.

Mail to William Biel at 125 South Spalding, Beverly Hills, Calif., is returned. If anyone knows his present address, please write Ev Parker.
