A Christmas card from Jack Johnson: "Just got out of the hospital a month ago congestive heart failure and pneumonia but am getting stronger every day. My wife Alice is also recovering from a heavy bout of bronchitis."
Margaret Hitchcock is still very active on four committees; her biggest job is being chairman of the program committee for a large retirement home Whitney Center. She spent four months in New Hampshire last summer.
Kathryn Potter and Julie were in Mazatlan, Mexico, in mid-December. This is just an hour's flight from El Paso. It was so green and tropical, with very good beaches, that it was a perfect spot for a winter vacation.
Elliot Sharp had a bad attack of the flu in May which left him very weak, so he was unable to compete in the New England and national tennis tournaments. He is now back
to normal and able to play at the local tennis club. He celebrated his 92nd birthday at his favorite country club, dancing with his niece who had taken Elliot and his wife Hazel to the club for a birthday dinner.
A card from Art Sterling advises he is in good health. His daughter Kay, a widow, remarried in January and will continue to live in North Carolina.
Dale Barker mailed me a clipping advising of the death in Arlington, Mass., on November 27, 1983, of Harold Chadbourne HarlowSr., and the College was notified of the death on March 8, 1983, of Harold H. Mattison at Mercy Health and Rehabilitation Center at Auburn, N.Y. Their obituaries will appear in this or a subsequent issue of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE.
