Perhaps that only good thing to.come out of the 17-7 Harvard game debacle was that I got a chance to talk to and hear about some of the people in the class. I still need to start the information pipeline flowing and would appreciate your input.

Chris and Suzanne Palmer hosted a crowd of Dartmouth undergrads over the weekend friends of son Tom 'B9. Despite the pouring rain, the Palmers hosted an outstanding tailgate party before the game. Tom and Mary Ellen Good came into Boston from Ohio to see the game and, only coincidently, to visit with Jeff Good '87, a Dartmouth soccer player. The football weekend also served as an opportunity to hold the first executive committee meeting of Herb McCord's administration. Although something less than a quorum was present, it was a good chance to get together with class newsletter editor George Fesus. George and Susan have moved to the Boston area from New York where he was with Mastercard. George is now executive vice president at State Street Bank in Boston where, "among other things," he runs the credit card division. It was also good to see CarlDuBei, our representative on the Alumni Council. Carl is a partner at Arthur Andersen and Company in Boston.

I finally found Alex Varkas, who had been hiding away at his house in Vermont for most of the summer. Currently, Alex is working toward his law degree at Nova University Law School in Florida. He tells me that his law studies have taught him several critically important Latin phrases, not the least of which is Aquila non capit muscas "the eagle does not catch flies"!? Alex also informed me that his son, A.J. 'OB, is now four years old and at 47 pounds of blue twisted steel can benchpress his own weight.
