The Westchester Club's annual dinner was held on September 10 at the Scarsdale Golf Club. This was an experiment, to get the affair away from the socially busy June season when it has normally been held, and it was a success - the attendance was 106 alumni, plus our honored guests: Mike Pender '47, President of the Dartmouth Club of Long Island; Gerry Sarno '50, President of the Dartmouth Club of Western Connecticut; and 16 members of the entering Class of 1967 and the fathers of many of them.

Outgoing President Martin J. Dwyer Jr.'34 who presided, introduced Arthur E. Allen Jr. '32 of the National Enrollment Committee, who read a most inspiring letter from Bill Flowers '64, holder of one of the current Westchester Club Scholarships. Allen then introduced Oliver Quayle '42, who presented each of the incoming freshmen, giving brief records of their secondary school careers. Warren Agry '45 announced that as the most important part of the Club's 1963-64 program, the Glee Club would appear in Westchester in April, 1964 (date to be shortly announced) and that Westchester would invite Western Connecticut members in return for their hospitality to us last year.

Warren Flynn '38 reported on the success of last spring's Rugby game and spring outing, thanks to a happy cooperation of the weather and the friendly management of the Blind Brook Polo Club. Eric Miller '45, Treasurer, noted our financial solvency and the rising total of our Scholarship Fund. Fred P. McKenzie '24 announced the nominating committee's selections for 1963-64 officers: President, Warren C. Agry Jr. '45; Ist Vice-President, Warren G. Flynn '38; 2nd Vice-President, Oliver A. Quayle 3rd, '42; Secretary, William H. Scherman '34; Treasurer, Eric T. Miller '50; Governors for the 1963-66 term; Martin J. Dwyer Jr. '34; James Lyall '31; Alfred F. McGrath '30; Robert M. Rex '57; and Lloyd Sanford '26.

The first of the evening's two major speakers was George Colton '35, Director of Development, who described new developments on the Dartmouth campus, evaluated the summer program just ended, told of physical construction and academic progress, and described some of the events of the coming year, including the football season. Final highlight of the evening was a wonderful talk, humorous, sardonic, philosophical, and inspirational by turns by DougMorris '31 who, if he is not careful, will almost certainly be asked to speak again.
